I just watched a 90's anime called Jin-Roh Wolf Brigade, and they have some powered suits that basically function like power armor. From the front they're practically indestructible. High caliber bullets and propelled grenades bounce off and even a satchel charge only cracks eye wear.

Anyways I was wondering if there were any mods that someone could recommend that would turn anybody wearing power armor into a tank. A mod that changes specifically power armor and not all heavy armors or armors of comparable dt. So there is a marked difference between normal armor of any weight and power armor itself. Anyways ty in advance.

But some suggestions from in-game experience would be nice. Especially if I was going to install something that changes stats of vanilla game items like Realistic and TUPAM do. 00:29, June 11, 2011 (UTC)So basically what you’re saying is you want to be indestructible. Here’s an idea, just turn the game down and play on very easy. (Shakes head.) 13:52, June 11, 2011 (UTC)How're you supposed to kill Brotherhood soldiers or, like, NCR shock troops if you make power armor super awesome?

Armor

D: 14:54, June 11, 2011 (UTC)That's part of the point Nitpicker. Remember in fo2 after you get power armor your all but destructible except against the gauss rifle pretty much and until you get the gauss rifle yourself and power armor you can't even think of crossing paths with the BOS or Enclave. Well I want my BOS friends to be that way. And I'll probably spend some time adding power armor to different npcs. I never make characters that use power armor because it's sooo slow. Still I have an explosives character and now that he's almost 30 I am planning on slapping some power armor on him and having him walk around blowing stuff up. But at the moment power armor just feels like strong armor (yeah that's what it is and all) But I want it to be a completely different experience.

I want to feel like I'm walking old world technology. And hey Chaos seriously it's a 1 player game I play on very hard I'm trying to tailor my gaming experience and I feel like power armor just isn't fully realized in the vanilla game. Is that soo wrong?

01:12, June 12, 2011 (UTC)It's interesting you saying this about Power Armor because I have the same impression, it's only strong armor. I can achieve more or less the same level of protection with Sierra Madre Reinforced + Toughness + implant + centurion helmet or Gecko Backed reinforced leather + Toughness + implant + Ranger combat armor. The main problem is the way DT is implemented in NV, is a flat stat applied to the armor and not a conjuction of stats like FO1/2.

In FO2 you have the armor class, the damage resistence of the armor, the DT of the armor and each of DR/DT stats have specific resistence to plasma, laser, normal weapons, fire and explosions. That's why Deathclaws and Cazadors are the most dangerous creatures on the Wasteland, they ignore the DT system (and with HH even Cazadors losed the edge). Sorry to say, but your options are limited and have some drawbacks. You need something like Project Nevada, wich allows you to customize the DT system. By default all armors have 20% bleeeding, wich means that 20% of the damage will always trespass the armor, regardless the weapon (wich is dumb, because a Pool Cue will make damage to your PA). The mod allows you to configure the DT to have the default behaviour of 20% bleeding, adding more 50% to bleeding or lowering the bleeding to 1%!Bear in mind that this will make some fights 'endless', because an NCR trooper with normal armor (10 DT) facing an Legionnarie armed with an machete (11 DAM) will fight 'forever'. Also, when facing the BoS, for example, a lot of weapons will be unnefective against them, because you will need weapons with very high DAM (more than 32 points, 26 DT from armor and 6 DT from the helmet). All-American, for example, won't do shit against them and the only SMG effective will be the 12.7mm.

This will also apply to other enemies wearing Combat Armor, Leather Reinforced, etc. If you want to see this in action, unistall patch 1.3 (or 1.5 on PS3) and put 1.2 back, equip a Minigun with normal ammo and try to kill an NCR heavy trooper wearing Salvaged Power Armor: you only do little damage against them. That's why Obsidian putted -25 DT in 5mm ammo. 22:10, June 14, 2011 (UTC)I agree with Brfritos here.

Get the mod if you want to make power armour more powerful.I also agree that there are various armours in the game that are just as effective as power armour, such as the Siera Madre reinforced security armour my personal favourite combined with a few other items are just as effective as T-51b power armour. From a logical perspective. Power armour like the T-51b was suposed to be the pinnacle of military technology before the great war.

Soldiers in suits like that were human tanks, able to maurade the battlefield slaughting chinese soldiers as you see at the end of the Operation Anchorage DLC. IMO, powerarmour should be incredibly rare and extremely hard to maintain no jury rigging and above all, it should be dam well nasty. Most normal small arms should be completely ineffective against it. Only large calibre weapons like.50 & 12.7mm should have any chance of damaging the armour not the occupant. Energy weapons, 400mm dual purpose grenades and missiles should do much of the damage.

The armour should degrade rapidly if under constant heavy fire, slowing down and even stopping before the wearer starts taking damage. That's how I'd design how power armour would work in my perfect FO universe.08:54, June 15, 2011 (UTC)Power armour is ok if you are ok with being the last horse to cross the finish line.

Sure you might not take so much damage, but a good set of light armour and toughness are just about enough to match the DT of power amrour, and they give some great effects (hence assasins armour and joshua grams armour.) I wear power amour if i am going somewhere there is a good chance I won't come back. I usually give it to my companions anyways. Well, Veronica because the others look stupid with it on.
