  • Amazon.com: Seagate FireCuda 2TB Solid State Hybrid Drive Performance. Using the Samsung Magician software that came with my Samsung 840 Pro SSD. I was running out of space and wanted more zip, so I cloned the 1TB drive.
  • 1TB 7200RPM HDD or 1TB 5400RPM SSHD? Thread starter shipinabottle; Start date. It already has the HGST-brand 1TB HDD for storage; and I was thinking of getting the Seagate SSHD also to store stuff. Would that SSHD better, in any sense? And I'll take flak for this - you could clone your SSD to the 1TB HDD after backing up the latter.

Seagate Software

Note that I have already reached out to Seagate Tech Support for help with this problem and after going through some troubleshooting steps I have figured out that this has got to be a problem with Windows 10 and nota hardware defect with the hard drives.Recently, I purchased 2 Seagate Firecuda 2TB 2.5' SSHD drives for my custom built desktop and securely installed them via a special mounting bracket inside the case. The drives are properly detected in the BIOS/CMOSand they also work in another operating system; in this case, that operating system is a Live Linux Distro called Parted Magic, which is meant to be used for rescue and recovery on broken PCs.

But the PHYSICAL drives are detected nowhere in Windows 10, notin Disk Management, they do not appear in File Explorer, although it's possible they may be showing up in Device Manager as an Unknown device under the 'Other Devices' category. I do have the drives configured right now to run in a hardware RAID 1 (mirror)through the BIOS/CMOS (which is how I intend to use them), though I have also tried them without a RAID configuration at all and I still have the same problem. I have tried everything I know to resolve this issue, including using Windows to look for updateddrivers as well as running the Device and Hardware troubleshooter built into Windows.Remember, this is a custom built Desktop PC, which I built myself, and not one from an OEM such as HP or Dell.

Manager

The make and model of my motherboard is an MSI FM2-A85XA-G65, and it's BIOS is updated to the latest version, which is version 2.6.In doing some Googling, this seems to be a common problem in Windows 10, detecting newly installed hard drives, that is, especially SSHDs such as Seagate Firecudas. And there also seems to be likely multiple probablecauses and possible solutions across the board, although some users have reported success in getting their drives detected and working properly under Windows 10, whilst also reporting that these same kind of problems didn't happen in previous versions of Windowssuch as Windows 8 or 7.I just need to narrow down what the likely cause of the problem and get to a solution as quickly as possible. It's been almost a week since I physically installed these drives, only to find that they are practicallyinvisible in my Windows 10 operating system.

Discwizard Boot Cd

I haven't been too impressed with Seagate tech support; they don't seem to know what they are doing, but they have pointed me towards Microsoft to get some help with this problem. Well, here goes something, hopefully.
