Rated 5 out of5 byBen fromUpdate software first Product work us intended. Almost the same price as the normal SD card but with the added bonus of using your old camera without a wifi to be updated for a fraction of a cost. Now you don't need a new camera to buy and spend for.
But first you MUST UPDATE the software of this card before doing anything. Just google toshiba support and put the model number of this card and download the updater. You have to use your PC/Mac to do this and insert this Card to the SD slot infront of your CPU. Then afterwards you could download the App from your phone flashair. This process will save you a lot of time figuring what's going on and on why is it not functioning well. Rated 5 out of5 byFr.
Joe fromUltra Fast Download of Photos to Android I use the Toshiba FlashAir II card in my Olympus Stylus XZ-2 Digital camera connected to my Samsung Galaxy Note II Android smart phone. You must download the FREE FlashAir app from the Sony play store so you can connect with the FlashAir card in your camera. The down load of 37 high definition photos took about a minute to transfere from the camera to the android phone. You must change your phone setting in Wi-Fi. In Setting under Advanced you MUST uncheck Auto network switch box.
If you do not the FlashAir network will NOT be detected by the card. The best part is the FlashAir card sets up its own network. Rated 2 out of5 bySherwin L. FromIt's not perfect It's not easy to setup and sometimes it doesn't work. You really have to download their software to configure the settings of the card on a computer.
And the constant inserting the card and removing the card from the computer to write updating settings is annoying. I got this when B&H had a good deal and this was cheap. But non-techies might have an issue with getting to work and setting up for the first time.
I got it to work and it's working okay. Still not the best solution out there. I have an Eye-Fi and I thought this one would be better and less complicated to setup. Maybe in the future I'll get the latest Eye-Fi Mobi and check that one out.
Rated 5 out of5 byBroadcaster fromFast and easy download of photos The Wi-Fi enabled SD card from Toshiba work exactly as expected. Very easy to setup and wireless ID can be renamed and password can be changed. All files are visible including RAW and jpeg. The android/iPhone apps can select the desired photos for download, so you get the choice between all photos or selected ones to be downloaded. The card has the capability of internet pass through, which means that the card can connect to your Wi-Fi network and provide internet as well as access to the photos! Rated 4 out of5 byLex fromWorks. Superior to Eye-Fi.
A couple years ago, I borrowed an Eye-Fi card for a test drive. As much as I liked the idea of wireless uploads from any SD-equipped camera, the Eye-Fi's signal reliability and software were poor. I'm now using this FlashAir II card exclusively in my Fuji X100, and occasionally in DSLRs. It's superb for uploading photos during breaks in street photography sessions, or for live uploads from events. No additional bulk, and it seems to have no trouble with light metal-framed chassis (Fuji X100).
Tests with my Canon 60D (polycarbonate chassis) also worked well. I have not yet tested it with a heavy magnesium chassis (IE, Canon 1D series). Speed is an issue. My usual cards are from SanDisk's Extreme Pro line (90MB/sec write), so I feel the speed difference with these (specs say 10MB/sec write). Even single-photo RAW writes are sluggish with my X100, so keep your buffer size in mind while shooting. An issue, but a fair trade-off with the Wi-Fi addition.
Toshiba Flashair App
It gets 4 stars out of 5 because I can't vouch for the reliability yet. I only use this when I definitely want Wi-Fi, and fall back on traditional SanDisk cards most of the time, so it's only seen a few hundred photos so far. The app crashed repeatedly on my Galaxy S3, which could have been an installation issue. I upgraded to an S4 shortly after installing the app, so I didn't figure out if the issue was specific to the S3.
Flashair App For Windows 10
The S4 works without a hitch. All told, I recommend this card. Best SD-based Wi-Fi I've tried. Definitely superior to Eye-Fi and well worth the money (especially at $!).
Wireless uploads are rather fun. It has drawbacks, but be aware of them, and it won't hold you back. Rated 4 out of5 byGargiulo fromYES!
I've been struggling with the Eye-FI for too long! I did some research and found this and another solution, but this got the better review. Interesting, in some instances, Eye-Fi did better than the FlashAir, but for my needs, this is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I don't need any desktop app or computer to configure, no account or logging into anything. It did take a little extra time figuring out, due to my camera (D800). Usually once installed and camera turned on, power is going to the wi-fi connectivity and a link can be made with your phone via the FlashAir app.
However, I did a little research and it turns out I have to turn on Live View for the connection to work. That would be the only downside, hence 4 stars (I'd give 4.5 if I could). This might actually be good, because it might be preserving battery life, using it only when transferring images. Otherwise, you launch the app, name the Flash-Air wi-fi network, and view photos as thumbnails or as a folder. Pick the ones you want and download to the phone. My primary use is to have the FlashAir card as the secondary card, recording jpegs for sharing or reviewing, while the CompactFlash card is the primary card recording RAW files.
