Resolution Not Supported - posted in Skyrim Technical Support: I am playing Skyrim with my computer hooked up to my TV via an HDMI cable. When viewing the desktop, the resolution (1202x690) fits perfectly. Activation key vista. However, the only resolution that is large enough without overscanning when playing skyrim is 1176x664, and that leaves about half inch black bands on all sides.

Test

Anyone else having issues with the custom resolution setting in the Nvidia control panel with windows 10? (self.nvidia) submitted 3 years ago by deleted. It would not support it. It also instant failed tests, not even giving me 30 seconds to choose weather to keep or discard changes with the 30 second timer, just straight test failed. Either you set the custom resolution for your laptop screen and not for the external monitor. Make sure you plug in your monitor, then select your external monitor in your intel hd graphics, set the custom resolution then apply it.

Royalty Free Music by in case you're wondering and it's called 'Swollen Memory'.This is my video tutorial of how to make the monitor run 2560x1600 even though it is not officially supported. The model for this monitor is DELL U3011 and the price is $1349.00. I hope this video is helpful to you and don't forget to leave a like, comment, and share this video. Enjoy!Below is a script I've used for this video. It was recorded sentence by sentence to help minimize the mistakes:Hello everyone! AigamerDS here and in this video, I'm going to show you how to force enable 2560 by 1600 resolution on non-supported video card or port.

Here in this Frys electronic store, I've found this 30' Dell monitor sitting on display and it appeared that the maximum resolution is 1920 by 1200. Clearly, this monitor can support the native resolution of 2560 by 1600 and there is the way to fix it. On back of this computer, it uses HDMI cable that lead from the video card, as shown in this video, all the way back to the monitor where it has HDMI port to plug in.For NVIDIA user, you first right click on empty desktop and then select NVIDIA control panel. From there, click Customize to change the resolution. And then Create Custom Resolution.

Here, you can input your custom pixels and refresh rate. For this monitor, I'd put 2560 by 1600 and the refresh rate is 60hz.

If the 60hz doesn't work for you, try 55hz. As for timing, select the standard CVT reduced blank and then go ahead and test it. If the test went successful, great! Go ahead and select your new resolution and then click 'Apply'. If this is done correctly, you should be able to see your new resolution on the list.

Restarting is usually not required for this kind of task, but if it doesn't work, try restarting your computer anyway to see if that fixed the problem. There you go! That's how you forced enable 2560x1600 resolution on non-supported video card or port.

If you have newer video card like GTX 690, 780, or whatever, it should work automatically without configuring any setting to use with HDMI port. This instruction is for NVIDIA user, but the setting should be similar for AMD and Intel graphics user. Now you can enjoy your media production or game at high resolution whatever and whenever you want.
