Anonymous.SOURCE:I get this every now and then, usually because, during a scan, I abort for some reason-reset the computer, force-quit, whatever. The printer driver, I think, leaves some breadcrumbs that it can't recover from when it runs again.Anyway, I reset the printing system and install the latest HP driver.

If that doesn't work, I delete the HP folder in the Applications folder; then remove whatever files I can find in the /Library folder such as Application Support/ Hewlett-Packard, Application Support/HP, any HP file in Preferences, Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/HPScanPro.ds.Then reinstall the driver and things work fine. I'm thinking this last item, the HPScanPro.ds in the TWAIN folder might be the culprit but I haven't tried just remove it alone-after I remove everything things work so I can't 'try it again'.and don't want to! =)Anyway, I've had success with this method. Uninstall the previous software and then reinstall thedownloaded software.WORKAROUND:Follow the steps below:.Load the slides or negatives in the TMA and place it on the scanner glass.Open Image Zone and click onScan Pictureto scan everything.Afterthe scan is completed, change the settings from glass to scanslide/negative from TMA. The unit will scan again and show the fourslides or negatives in the preview.Click on the first picture in the scan preview and make the following changes:.change the dust and scratch removal/sharpness to none.change the resolution to 72 dpi.Click on the second picture in the scan preview and make the same changes described above.Click on the third picture and then the fourth picture and make the same changes.ClickAccept.
